We have some (very) exciting news y’all! The weekend is starting off with a big bang (literally) and we are so honored and humbled to have our ‘Written in the Stars’ elopement shoot featured on Style Me Pretty! Yes, you heard us right, Style Me Pretty, the kind-of-a-big-deal wedding industry blog. This celestial themed shoot was an amazing experience and we are so proud to share it with you! You’re invited to hop on over to SMP to check out the full feature here.
The shoot was centered around a young couple whose mutual love for astronomy led them to a love story...wait for it... ‘written in the stars’. Before we begin gushing over the details we must take this opportunity to thank some amazing people. From the masterpieces created by Kari of Lark Floral to the handmade art from Sara Kate Couture and Caitlin with Wouldn’t It Be Lovely, it was truly a magical experience. Also, a huge thank you to Rebekah of Rebekah Emily Photography, who we met through the Rising Tide Society. Beyond being an extremely talented photographer, Rebekah was critical in helping us develop a creative theme for the shoot and, well, it was out of this world (sorry y’all, we just couldn’t help ourselves)! We cannot forget our awesome assistant Hayley, who provided some killer playlists for our roadtrip and helped bring this whole vision to life. Lastly, a big thank you to our rock star real-life couple, Katie & Nolan. They are one beautiful couple, aren't they?
Now on to all those gorgeous details which made the intimate and artistic vision a reality. First thing's first, location! We packed up the car and took a road trip up to rural Virginia to the historic Rixey Manor. It was an obvious choice for this shoot as it allowed us to highlight both classic and modern elegance, while maintaining the celestial vision with its open hill tops. Once the handmade Swedish Himmeli, custom painted accents, and night sky inspired florals were all added to the scene, the vision really began to take shape. A whimsical yet authentic celebration worthy of the sky’s approval had been created, and was perfect for this unique love story.
Some of our favorite details included the invitation suite, the night-themed cocktail display, and the stunning backdrop to our modern cake. The invitations were subtle and simple yet symbolized the intimate connection this couple shared. The dark teal was an unexpected match that showcased the letter pressed constellations and truly gave them life. Let’s talk about this hand painted globe. It displayed the specialty cocktail hand picked by the bride and groom that continued the whimsical yet natural theme. It helped transform a popular choice at today’s weddings into a creative and unique scene tailored to the bride and groom (not to mention it sounded delicious). Continuing with all things delicious, the modern white and gold cake by Eloise's Pastries popped against the hand-painted celestial backdrop. Lastly, we come to the end of the night where the couple took part in something they both have a love and passion for, star gazing. This single photo embodied Katie & Nolan coming together and fashioning an event true to their relationship. We couldn’t have imagined a more romantic nor genuine moment as they begin their new chapter as Mr. and Mrs.
Thank you to a talented team of vendors who helped bring this day to life!
