Lily & Oak is a labor of love.

No two love stories are the same and we thrive on getting to know our couples personally to help bring their individual love stories to life on their wedding day. Think back to the very best date you’ve ever had together.

Remember the romance.

Those butterflies in your stomach, the shortness of breath when sneaking glances at each other,
The way everything just effortlessly fell into place.

We strive to recapture all of your relationship's intimacy.

We create awesome weddings to start even more awesome marriages.

What's in a name

We relish in seeing how couples’ personalities compliment each other and our name reflects that. Lily signifies soft romance and femininity, while oak symbolizes long-standing strength and masculinity. Together, Lily & Oak represents a beautiful and strong union, just like the ones we work to help our L&O couples build. We’re driven by helping couples put down roots and grow in their love together.

Meet the Team

Whitney Hudson

Whitney spent her childhood in Boise, Idaho, but upon moving to North Carolina ten years ago, she discovered the wonders of Chick-fil-a and banana pudding and quickly adopted the South as her home. While attending UNC pursuing a degree in Journalism and Political Science, Whitney began an internship at Southern Weddings Magazine and before she knew it, she gained the title of Director of Advertising. After four years with Southern Weddings and a shiny new diploma in hand, Whitney packed up her belongings for a grand adventure, hopped on a train and moved to New York City. There she continued her work in the wedding industry with Ceci New York, a high-end stationery company. North Carolina kept calling her home (aka there was no Chick-fil-a in the Big Apple), and upon her return, she began Whitney Elizabeth Events where she honed her skills in event management and design. . Whitney loves traveling the world, reading voraciously, and is on a mission to find the best taco place in the Triangle.

Alex Hudson

Alex spent most of his life sunburnt and filling many weekends at Disney growing up in Orlando, Florida. For the last decade he has made residence in the wonderful state of North Carolina, eating his way from the mountains to the beach while enjoying all the music, culture, and people everywhere in between. After receiving his BS in Computer Science from Appalachian State, he was a software developer in Chapel Hill before his current position as a network engineer at Cisco. He loves cooking, traveling, and despite his distaste for owning cats, he spends most of his free time watching cat videos from all corners of the internet with his wife.

Kendall Stevens

Kendall grew up in Richmond, Virginia just a couple hours up I-95 from Raleigh.  She earned her degree from the University of South Carolina where she claims to have minored in boiled peanuts and pimento cheese.  Not long after graduation Kendall packed her bags and moved to Raleigh, NC to take a full time role as a Customer Service Rep.  Since relocating, she married her high school sweetheart and they have called Raleigh their home for the past five years.  They love exploring Raleigh with their two dogs and enjoy taking part in all festivities and (very delicious) restaurants the city has to offer.  If they’re not in Raleigh you can find them on the beaches in the OBX, visiting family in Richmond, or cheering on their alma maters (Gamecocks > Pirates).  Kendall is so thrilled to be a part of Lily & Oak and cannot wait to help assist in planning your special event!

Hayley Combs

Hayley is a born and raised North Carolinian who has lived in all regions across the state. After attending East Carolina University and a quick trip to Germany as an Au Pair, she now calls Raleigh home. She grew up with Alex in Winston-Salem and quickly developed a life long friendship with Whitney after meeting her. She and Whitney often joke that they have the better friendship now. Hayley currently works as an Account Manager at Global Knowledge in Cary, NC. You can often find Hayley en route to the mountains, attending a concert, or roaming downtown Raleigh with her incredibly cute cocker spaniel, Henry.
